Merewenn was born and raised in Montréal, in a family of musicians. She started classical piano and solfège at the age of seven and continued classical training for fifteen years.  During that time she also took flute, violin and voice lessons, as well as orchestral and choral classes.

Following that, Merewenn was part of a few Montreal bands, on bass, guitar and voice, playing original music. That's where she started honing her composing and arranging skills. That's also where she started exploring dissonance and hypnotic motifs.

Merewenn's passion for film led her to discover composing for film, and how magical it is. Her varied musical background allows her to create with a wide horizon of references, while her experimental sensibility pushes her to imagine unpredictable scores.
